Funeral Services for Evangeline F. Dahlgren will be conducted from the Holdrege Memorial Homes Chapel in Holdrege, Nebraska on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Daren Popple officiating. Burial will follow in the Moses Hill Cemetery, north of Holdrege in Phelps County, Nebraska. The Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege is in charge of the arrangements.
Evangeline Florence Dahlgren, 92 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege. She was born August 6, 1922, on a farm north of Holdrege, in Phelps County, the eldest of three daughters born to Enoch and Ina Florence (Johnson) Dahlgren. She was baptized and attended the Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege. Evangeline attended District 45 Country School, north of Holdrege, through the 8th grade.
The family later moved to town. Evangeline lived with her mother at 903 Arthur Street and continued to live there until her mother’s passing in 1996. She then began to make her home at the Holdrege Memorial Homes until her passing.
Evangeline enjoyed crocheting. She loved the companionship of her dogs and loved all dogs.
Evangeline was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Paul Dahlgren and his wives, Esther and Helen, Verne Dahlgren and his wives, Sigrid and Kay; sisters and their spouses: Pearl Backencamp and husband, Cliff and Mae Newsom and husband, Charlie.
She leaves to mourn her passing; her nieces and nephews and all their families; many special friends and her loving family at Holdrege Memorial Homes where she was known as “Angel.”
