Fred W. Persson, Fargo, ND, passed away on February 21, 2015. He was born on July 1, 1923, near Edgeley, North Dakota to Fred and Hattie (Olson) Persson. He attended grade school in Willowbank Township #2, and graduated from Edgeley High School in 1941. He attended the State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND and then served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Fred farmed for many years in the Edgeley area, and was also an independent crop insurance adjuster. He moved to Fargo in 1988 and continued his adjusting work, retiring in 1999. Fred often said the happiest day of his life was on June 8, 1991, when he and Mary Nell Miller from Moorhead were married in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead. They lived in Moorhead until moving to Trollwood Village in north Fargo. Mary Nell was indeed the light of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters Alice Belquist, Violet Hickey, Ruth Lacine, Joan Lagodinski; three brothers Andy, Skip and Carl; two nephews Mark and Kim; and four brothers-in-law Russel Belquist, Eddie Hickey, Glen Lacina and Robert Lagodinski. Memorial Service: Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND. Friends may gather for one hour before the funeral in the church.
