Mr. Aderholt was fatally wounded in a gunfight on the square in Harrison, Arkansas. He was wounded in a shootout with the Pace brothers and most likely killed by Frank Pace. This stemmed from Mr. Aderholt assaulting the Pace's father while he was acting as an attorney for Aderholt's wife during divorce proceedings.
