Zachary Taylor Ewing
Zachary Taylor Ewing was born in Lawndale, Logan Co. Ill Feb.
16, 1849, and died at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill
Dec. 1st, 1918, aged 69 years, 9 months, and 14 days.
He was the son C.C. Ewing and Margaret Ewing and was raised to manhood in this vacinity. He was married to Sarah Barger who passed away in August 28,1894. To this union 8 children were born,3 of whom preceded him in death, leaving Mrs. Minnie Naugle, Mrs. Mary Naugle, Mrs. Alice Stewart, Frank and Elmer the latter a soldier in France.
He was again married 3 years ago to Mrs. Lucinda Dukes, who with the five children survive him.
He also leaves to mourn his loss five sisters. Mrs. Mary Fergus, Mrs. George Judd, Mrs. Granville Noblit, Mrs. George Brearley, and Mrs. Ella Ewing and three brothers, R.C.Ewing, Dr. F.M. Ewing and Fred Ewing, eighteen granchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Mr. Ewing was very well known and a highly respected citizen having led an upright and religious life, and his many friends will be deeply pained to hear of his demise.
