Henry J. DeGonia, 59, of Maryville, formerly of Granite City, died at 8:35 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital, Clayton, Mo., after an illness of nine months.
Mr. DeGonia, a retired auto frame inspector at the A.O. Smith Corp., Granite City, was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1561 of Edwardsville.
He was born Aug. 29, 1914, at Old Mines, Mo., a son of William and Mary Ann Polette DeGonia.
Survivors are his wife, the former Myrtle V. Maness; daughters Mrs. Roger H. (Norma) Leeder, Affton, Mo., Mrs. James D. (Betty) Bladdick and Mrs. Roy P. (Carol) Hill, both of Granite City, and Mary L. DeGonia and Donna R. DeGonia, both at home; sons Harold D. DeGonia, Arnold, Mo., and Donald W. DeGonia, Maryville; sisters Mrs. Rolla (Rachel) Kimbrel, Rocky Mountains, Mo., Mrs. Edward (Mamie) Boyer, Granite City, and Mrs. Frank (Ethel) McCready, St. Louis; brothers John DeGonia, St. Ann, Mo., and Cecil DeGonia, Granite City, and 15 grandchildren.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, 515 Vandalia St., Collinsville. The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial in Buck Road Cemetery.
