The daughter of Pierre Grandadam and Barbe Charpentier, Marguerite Grandadam married Francois Marchal on April 29, 1749 in Plaine, a village near Rothau, in Bas Rhin, Alsace, France. Witnesses at the marriage were Sebastien Grandadam and Joseph Georgeon. They were married shortly before they emigrated, arriving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania aboard the Ship Phoenix on 15 September, 1749.
