VIRGINIA T. BRUCE — PETERSBURG — Virginia Thornton (Clifford) Bruce, 92, of Petersburg, WV, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, due to the results of an automobile accident.
She was born July 31, 1916, in Grant County, and was a daughter of the late Charles B. and Coralie S. (Kent) Clifford. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Isaiah H. Bruce, who died Jun. 16, 2009, as a result of this accident, a daughter, Rosalie V. Scott, four brothers, James Clifford, Eugene Clifford and Robert Clifford, and two sisters, Clara Bruce and Mary Mills.
She was a member of The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, Petersburg.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara A. Beckwith and husband King, of Moorefield; a brother, Wilmer Clifford, of Sandusky, Ohio; a sister, Beulah Bruce, of San Diego, CA, a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Schaffer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, Petersburg.
Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg.
