amey. Survivors include his wife of 44 years,
Shirley Akers McKamey; one daughter, Rose
McKamey of Terra Haute; one daughter and
son-in-law, Andrea Sherrill and Clinton
Sherrill of Seelyville; one son, John L. McK-
amey Jr. of Terra Haute; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Gary McKamey and Rittie
McKamey of Staunton and Anthony McK-
amey and Beth McKamey of Harmony; three
brothers and sisters-in-law, Emmett McK-
amey and Helen McKamey of St. Charles,
Ill., Everett McKamey and Sandy McKamey
of Spencer, and Robert McKamey and Eve-
lyn McKamey of Cloverdale; one sister,
Katherine Orth of Lafayette; seven grand-
children; one great-grandchild; and several
nieces and nephews. He had also been
employed with the Terra Haute Parks
Department. He was a member of Rosedale
American Legion Post 290 and the Fraternal
Order of Police. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday
in Mattox-Wood North Terra Haute Chapel,
with the Rev. Tim Russell officiating. Cre-
mation is scheduled. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m.
