Katherine enjoyed gathering with friends and family, organizing neighborhood carry-ins, decorating her home, cooking and baking, art and painting, playing cards, mushroom hunting, and crossword puzzles. She had a great memory and loved to recall and share stories about growing up in Cloverdale, fun times along the Wabash River, interesting customers she encountered and other happenings if her 86 year journey. She was blessed with very good health and independence and remained very involved with nearby neighbors and friends.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and nine of her ten siblings. She is survived by her two children, William L. (Judy) Orth of West Lfafayette, and Deborah (Richard) Kjonass of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, kimLehnen of Rossville, Michael Orth of Terre Haute, Kris (Monty) Brewer of West Point, and Tammy Kjonass of Columbia, South Carolina; six great-grandchildren,Kaylee Lehnen, Taylor Lehnen, Cassidy Orth, Madison Brewer, and Wesley Brewer; one broth, Robert (Evelyn) McKamey of Cloverdale; sister-in-law, Shirley McKamey of West Terre Haute; and many nieces and nephews.
Interment will take place privately at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution can do so to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the charity of their choice.
