Aldona Pearl (Sisler) DeBerry, 91, of Masontown, died Saturday May 1, 2004, at the home of her son, Rodney, in Greensboro, Pa. She was born June 1, 1912, in Masontown, W.Va., a daughter of the late Andrew and Tacy (Deavers) Sisler.
In addition to raising a large family, she retired as a garment presser. She was a Senior Citizen helper in Masontown, 1988 Buckwheat Lady Preston, 1989 Preston County Belle and an active member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons; Thomas L. DeBerry, of Kingwood, Larry E. DeBerry, of Kingwood, Roger F. DeBerry, of Buena Vista, Va., Rodney A. DeBerry, of Greensboro, Pa.; one daughter, Betty W. Martin, of Terra Alta; countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dana Sisler,of Morgantown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Edgar DeBerry; one son, Lawrence J. DeBerry; two sisters, Opal Emerson and Edna DeBerry Wiles; three brothers, Earl, Russell and Todd Sisler.
Friends may call at the Morgan Funeral Home, Reedsville, W.Va., from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2004, and from 3-9 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2004. Funeral services, with the Rev. William Davis officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Herring. Interment Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
