Dolphus Richard Stephens Revised Obituary:

Services for Dolphus R. "Doc" Stephens, 78, a 55 year resident of Ventura County, will be a 2 pm Thursday in the Payton Mortuary Chapel, Oxnard, with Pastor Les McColm officiating. Burial will be in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Stephens, of Oxnard, collapsed and died Monday of an apparent heart attack. He was born April 2, 1898 in Maryville, Tennessee. Mr. Stephens came to Ventura County in 1921 from Oregon. He began working for the Robert S. Oxnard estate as a ranch foreman, then serving as a ranch foreman for the Stroube Ranch, and as a maintenance engineer for Rocklite Corporation of Ventura.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Esta (married August 25th, 1918 in Blount County, Tennessee). He was survived by his second wife, Lillian E. Russell Stephens (married February 14th, 1971 in Ventura, California), a son, Herbert, a daughter, Mrs. Louise Vang, as well as seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren at the time of his death.
