MANLEY - Helen M. Beers, 92, of Champaign, formerly of Manley, passed away at 9:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1922, to Vern and Leta Irons Copeland in Manley. She married Don L. Beers in Bushnell on June 27, 1948, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2001.
Survivors include a brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and three sisters.
She was employed for 12 years at Centennial High School in the library, and she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Champaign.
She enjoyed bowling, the Red Hat Society, Martha's Circle and walking.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Prairie City Cemetery in Prairie City.
Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Champaign.
