Joanna "Jo" Adams, 58, passed away peacefully at her residence on Chautauqua Blvd., April 26, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. Her beloved partner, Annie Wisniewski, dear friends, and family were at her side. She was born in Johnsonburg, Pa., on March 16, 1948, the daughter of William and Jenny (Manno) Adams. Her parents; as well as her beloved sisters, Philomena Miller of Cleveland, Ohio, and Delores Veneziano of Erie, Pa.; and her brother, William Adams of Seneca, Pa., preceded her in death. Besides her partner, Annie Wisniewski, she is survived by two brothers, Anthony "Tony" Adams of Erie, Pa., and Fred Adams and his wife, Shirley, of Millcreek, Pa.; brother-in-law, Barney Veneziano, of Erie; as well as our good friend, Pete Caristo, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews in Erie, Pa., Philadelphia, Pa., Cleveland, Ohio, Rockville, Md., Crofton, Md., Oil City, Pa., and Raleigh, N.C. She was the favorite "Aunt Jo" to so many. Known for her generous heart and loving spirit, Jo had a smile that filled a roomwith joy. She possessed a contagious zest for life and was a most loyal friend who was loved by all she touched. Jo was a true woman of grace, whose presence warmed our hearts, enriched our lives and will live within us for always. Her zest for life included her family, friends, the Cleveland Rockers and Browns. She worked for Penelec for years.
