Jackie Lee Blades, 76, of Cordova, MD passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at UMSMC at Easton surrounded by his family. He was born on October 17, 1937 in Ridgely to the late William V., Sr and Della Marie Knox Blades. Mr. Blades owned and operated poultry farms for many years. Currently he was employed with Daffin Agriculture Enterprises of Queen Anne where he worked for over 20 years. He was an avid rabbit hunter and trap shooter. He enjoyed bowling, playing on the Country Boys Team in Easton. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson Eric Blades and siblings Frances Messix, Carl Blades and Claudel Blades. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Charlotte J. Blades, son Keith E. Blades of Beach Haven, PA, daughter Juanita Sue Taylor of Henderson, brother William V. Blades, Jr. of Tennessee, granddaughter Kimberly Taylor and 2 great grandchildren Triston and Nicole. Funeral service for Mr. Blades will be on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro. The family will receive friends on Monday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in the Ridgely Cemetery.
