Ruby Celestia Ingalls Card was the younger sister of Charles Phillip Ingalls, and was fictionalized as a character in the book "Little House in the Big Woods" by her niece, Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Ruby Ingalls and Joseph Card were married in March 1877 and had two children together - Sherman and Alma Card. They lived in Wisonsin and Minnesota and moved to Inman, (Holt Co.) Nebraska in 1881 to be near Ruby's sister Ladocia, who was living there with her family. Ruby died in Inman and is believed to be buried in the Inman Cemetery, although no headstone marker has been found.

Sherman George Card, Sr. born Dec 17, 1877 in Wisconsin. He married Maude Marion McKinney and they lived at various times in Montana, Idaho and Washington state. Sherman and Maude had four children, Harry, Clarence, Mildred and Sherman George Card, Jr. Sherman Card Jr. died on Jan 23, 1955 in Tacoma, Washington and his wife Maud died six months later on Jun 16, 1955, also in Tacoma.

Ruby and Joseph Card's daughter, Alma Josephine Card was born on Sep 17, 1880 in Bergen, (McLeod Co.) MN. She died at the age of five on Sep 19, 1885 in New Richmond, (St. Croix Co.) WI.
