She was born to Jacob and Sophia Dutton De Graw. She was their ninth child out of ten children.

She married Levi Martin Hampton on 04 Apr 1869 in Little Spring Valley, Ney, Nevada

Together they had the following twelve children: Levi Thomas, George Martin, James Bennett, Juliette Hampton, Martha Jane, Eli, Ernest, Nephi, Lafayette, Charles, Rose, and Alvah Hampton.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Joseph ward chapel for Mrs. Juliette De Graw Hampton, 88, widow of Levi M. Hampton who died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Mills of Joseph.

Bishop Phillip Shipp was in charge of the services. Speakers were Ezbon L. Jackman, Robert W. Pinney of Monroe and John W. Oscarson of Marysvale. A quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Delwin T. Owens, Mrs. Owen Warenski and Eldon Morrey, sang "Beautiful Home", and the choir sang "I know That May Reedemer Lives" and "God Be with You 'til We Meet Again". Paul Levi soloist with the choir, and Mrs. Philip Shipp sang "Going Home". The invocation was by Robert wells; the benediction, by Delbert A. Gay. Joseph Levie dedicated the grave. Iterment was in the Joseph Cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons: Dord Hampton, Ivan Mills, Don Hampton, Irvin Shaw, Ernal Shaw and Mark Hampton. Floral offerings were carried by granddaughters.

Mrs. Hampton was born February 1, 1852, in Potowattamie County, Iowa, and came to Utah the same year. Her mother carrying her most of the way. At the age of seventeen she married Levi Martin Hampton on April 4, 1869, and they made their home at Glendale. He died in 1900, leaving her with eleven children, the youngest being three years of age. She moved to Sevier County in 1903 and had since lived at Joseph most of the time.

Mrs. Hampton's family were among the early pioneers of Utah. She had always been an active LDS church leader, especially interested in the Relief Society. She recounted many stories of early Indian wars, her father being one of the Blackhawk Indian War veterans.

Surviving are three daughters and six sons, Mrs. Juliette Shaw of Wellington, Mrs. Martha White of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Mrs. Rosalie Mills of Joseph, James B. Hampton of Hamet, Idaho, Eli Hampton of Salt Lake, Nephi Hampton of Craig, Colorado, Lafayette Hampton of Price, Charles Hampton of Marysvale and Alvah Hampton of Salt Lake. Sixty-four grandchildren and 74 great-grandchildren survive.
