Emanuel Roth Jr., 96, of Greeley died Wednesday, March 12, at Fairacres Manor nursing home in Greeley.
He was born Dec. 13, 1906, in Grimm, Russia, to Emanuel J. and Anna Katrina (Nagel) Roth.
On July 6, 1930, he married Pauline Brehm in Berthoud. She died Oct. 11, 1985.
As a child, Mr. Roth came to the United States on the ship Amsterdam. He and his family settled in Windsor and then, in 1911, homesteaded in Grover. Prior to being married, Mr. Roth worked as a cowboy gathering cattle while on horseback.
After their marriage, the couple farmed in Loveland and the Ault area, and then purchased a farm northeast of Greeley in 1947.
Mr. Roth was a member of the Sugar Beet Growers Association, Lucerne Potato Growers and the Dairymen's Association.
Survivors are two daughters, Marjorie A. Rosin of Gill and Janet E. Lind of Windsor; a son, Gerald L. Roth of Greeley; three sisters, Rachel Whitman of Colorado Springs, Esther Miller of Commerce City and Mary Walter of Greeley; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
His brothers, Alex Roth, Carl Roth, Sam Roth and Edward Roth, are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Adamson Memorial West Chapel, Greeley. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley.
Friends may visit from noon-5 p.m. Friday at the West Chapel.
