Josiah Paul Kinison, aged sixty years, eight months, and twenty-three days, died at the Good Samaritan Hospital, after many months of suffering. He had been in failing health since early 1954. Born January 22, 1896 in Jonesboro, Illinois, he was a son of Reverend Josiah Cook and Elinor B. (Miller) Kinison.

Mr. Kinison was formerly a purchasing agent for the Mount Vernon Car Company, having been employed there for 36 years, a member of the Epworth Methodist church (since 1914), was very active in church work, and was a former member of the Lions Club.

Mr. Kinison was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.

Mr. Kinison was survived by his wife Edna; one son, Raymond Foster Kinison; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret (Kinison) Potts, Mrs. Pauline (Kinison) Atkinson, and Mrs. Mary Lou (Kinison) Eubanks; four brothers, Hugh, Charles, Frank, and Harmon Kinison; one sister, Miss Blanche Kinison; and twelve grandchildren.

Visitation was Tuesday, October 16, 1956, at Myers Chapel. Funeral services were the following day, at Epworth Methodist church. The Reverends John Wesley Ditterline and R. R. Hollis officiating. Interment followed in Oakwood Cemetery of Mount Vernon, Illinois.
