MRS ANNIE CARNEY
Mrs. Annie Carney, 80, For many years a resident of Soldier, died at the home of her son, Alex Carney, in Sykesville, at 7:45 o'clock, Sunday morning, from imfirmities due to advanced years.
She was born in Motherwell, Scotland, March 18th, 1853, and with her family, came to this country at an early age. She made her home in the Soldier section for many years and was well known and held in high esteem there, as in this community. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, of Sykesville, and of the Pythian Sisterhood, taking in these bodies, when health permitted, an active interest.
Mrs. Carney is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Alex Watson, of Youngstown, O.; Mrs. William Morton, of Emeigh, Pa.; John Carney, of this place; William and Alex Carney, of Sykesville; James, Charles and Thomas Carney, of Soldier. Thirty-two grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren also survive. Her husband and one daughter preceeded her in death.
Funeral services were held and burial made at Sykesville, yesterday.
