Grandfather of 16 grandchildren. Great-grandfather of 32 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Brother of Janet McRoberts, Margaret Ann Sweet and the late Raymond Applegate. Step-father of Charles Gilmore and Brenda Lynch. Gernie passed away on January 29, 2015 at the age of 81. He was a resident of New Richmond.
