Ruby Dell Guy, 87, of Grapevine passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 in North Richland Hills.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Highland Church of Christ, 425 Highland Avenue, Abilene, TX 79605. Services are under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29 at the funeral home.
Ruby Dell Guy, 87, was born in rural Arkansas to Albert and Avil Marie Bonham on October 24, 1927, and passed away on January 25, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
She married Leroy Guy in Erick, OK on December 14, 1946. She grew up in Delhi, OK where she graduated high school and worked on the farm. .

She and Leroy farmed for several years before moving with their four children to Abilene in 1964. She was a longtime member of Highland Church of Christ. She worked for Abilene Christian University for 37 years in the Business and Registrar offices and the ACU Library.
Ruby was known for her love of God and family, faith, service to others, grit, and desserts. It came natural to her to encourage others, as evidenced by “Unsung Servant” award co-named in her honor and given annually to deserving staff member of ACU.
She was an avid sports fan and most enjoyed watching her sons and grandsons play baseball and basketball. She was a loyal fan of ACU basketball and football and Texas Rangers baseball.

Ruby was loved deeply and admired by her family and friends. She experienced unabashed admiration from her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She provoked lots of giggles in playing “crazy fist” with grandchildren where they tried to catch her fast-moving, darting fist.

She was preceded in death by husband Leroy Guy, parents Albert and Avil Bonham, and Brother Lee Bonham. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Barbara and Leon Moore; daughter and son in law Donna and Steve Campbell; son Eddie Guy, son John Guy, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three brothers, one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.
