He was a retired City of Plaquemine Firefighter, a native and resident of Plaquemine.
He was a Marine Corp Veteran who served in the Korean War, there he earned the National Defense Medal and the Marine Corp Marksmanship Medal.
Graveside service will be held at Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary, LA. on Monday, Jan. 26th at 2:30 p.m.
Jody is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maisie Seneca Mott, son, Robbie James Mott, both of Plaquemine; a sister, June Derrick of Baker.
Jody was preceded in death by his son, Barry Joseph Mott; parents, Isaac Sr. and Lilly Lake Mott; six sisters, Sarah, Alberta and Gloria Mott, Alice Kemp, Priscilla Herrod, Lillie Bird; three brothers, Leslie, James and Eddie Ray Mott.
