Funeral services were held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Bennie Lou Dewitt, age 92, who passed away on January 22, 2015 at the Prentiss Extended Care Facility. Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Rev. Ben James, Rev. John Barnes and Rev. Butch Harmon Officiated. Pall bearers were, Curtis McNeil, Todd Broome, Marty McNease, E. Ray Daniels, Mike Dewitt and Walker Dewitt

Bennie Lou Thompson Dewitt was born on March 18, 1922 in Jefferson Davis County, MS. She was the daughter of Webb Thompson and Anna King Thompson. She worked as a homemaker. She was a member of the Prentiss Baptist Church .

She is survived by her sister, Gracie Calhoun of Bassfield, MS and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Johnnie Dewitt, two brothers, Jimmy and Clyde Thompson, three sisters, Annie Mae Stamps, Hazel Pontzious and Alice Dewitt.
