He was born April 1, 1927 in Oneida, Tennessee to the late Sherman Carson and Elsie Phillips Carson.
Mr. Carson was a long time Member of the Tunnel Hill Baptist Church and now a member of the Buffalo United Baptist Church of Winona, a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #136, a WWll Veteran and was retired from HBD Industries in 1992.
He also worked at CNOTP Railroad, Fisher Body, Shirley Corp., Arvin Industries, B. F. Goodrich, and worked as security guard for ABC and HBD.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Asher Carson; Sisters: Eva Miller, Ethel Carson, Zora Norman; Nephews: Ralph Stanfill, Delmus Carson and Estel Stanfill; Niece: Wilma Stanfill; Nephew-in-law: Kenneth Brewster.
He is survived by Daughter: Brenda Bond and husband Wayne of the Annadale Community; Son: Ronnie Carson and wife Sandra of Oneida, Tennessee; Grandchildren: Brandon and wife Tara and Trevor Carson of Oneida, Tennessee, Jeremy Bond and wife Ginger of Robbins, Tennessee, and Daniel Bond and wife Keshia of Elgin, Tennessee; Great Grand children: Katelyn Bond and Amelia Bond, Conner Bond and Destiney and Matthew Biddle; several nieces, nephews: Artha Brewster, Debbie Terry and husband Jeremy, Steve Norman and wife Linda; many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 P.M. until time of funeral services at 8:00 P.M., Tuesday Evening, January 20, 2015 in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Oneida with Bro. Gary Griffith and Bro. Billy Lowe Officiating. Music will be provided by Phyllis Jeffers, Bernice Newport and Rick Newport. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday Morning, January 21, 2015 at the Carson Cemetery in the Tunnel Hill Community in Oneida with full Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #136.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Bond, Daniel Bond, Conner Bond, Brandon Carson, Trevor Carson, Josh Norman Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Norman, Arzo Carson, Robert Wright, Jennings Terry and Loyd King. Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida is in charge of the arrangements for the family of Alton Carson.
