Samuel Campbell Blessing appears to have been married 4 known times. His first marriage was to Ida Elizabeth Goodwin. They performed together at a Benefit in Dallas, Texas on January 4, 1895 according to a Dallas newspaper article. Ida's name was shown as "Ida E. Goodwin" on the program. They fell in love and married soon thereafter. A newspaper article on Feb. 1, 1895 in Dallas shows Ida as "Mrs. Ida Blessing".

Samuel Campbell Blessing & Ida Elizabeth Goodwin had their first child, a son Samuel Campbell Blessing, Jr., born to them later that year in November. They also had a daughter, Naomi Ida Blessing who was born in December 1897. She died on Sept. 1, 1898 in Dallas at the age of 9 months (per newspaper article). Ida E. Blessing filed for divorce a year later and the divorce was granted in January 1900 in Dallas. Ida appears on the 1900 census in Dallas living with her son Sam. They are living in the household of her mother & brother. Ida remarried several times.

After his divorce, Samuel Campbell Blessing headed to New York and acted in stage plays. He also managed & directed some of them.

Sam married a 2nd time to Mabel Grace Oliver (stage name of Mabel Kerr) on March 3, 1901 in Brooklyn, NY. They had 2 children in New York, Eugene Oliver & Florence Mildred Blessing, and then moved to Sam's home state of Texas. There are newspaper articles showing that they acted in numerous plays throughout Texas. Sam also owned a Photography Shop. Sam & Mabel divorced in Fort Worth about 1921.

Sam then married Lillian (Last Name Unknown). They divorced in April 1922 in Fort Worth (per newspaper article).

Sam's last marriage was to Edna Mae Garner. They had 2 children, Betty & Soloman, prior to his death in 1933.
