She was the daughter of Jas. McFadden and Margaret Rouse. She married William C. McDonald on March 17, 1881 in Monroe, Iowa. He was the son of John G. McDonald and Isabella Curry.

Emma and William were the parents of George W., Floy M., Bessie D., Jessie and one other child who died before 1900.

Emma and her husband divorced by 1910, and Emma worked as a dressmaker from her house.

Daughter Floy (born Nov. 29, 1884 in Cromwell, Union County, Iowa) married Claude K. Camblin in December of 1910 in Omaha, Nebraska. After his death she married Clarence Dodds. Floy and Claude were the parents of William Camblin. All three are buried near Emma McDonald.

Daughter Bessie Dora McDonald (born Feb. 4, 1887 in Cromwell, Union County, Iowa) married Robert J. Brown in June of 1912 in Omaha, Nebraska. They were the parents of Robert McDonald Brown and Richard C. Brown.

Robert J. McDonald (1881-1948) and Robert McDonald (1913-1980) are both buried near Emma McDonald.

[Note: I previously had the marriage date listed as March 17, 1881, which was probably a typo error on my part.]

Suggested edit: I recommend the marriage year in Emma's bio be changed to 1881; 1891 may be a typo. The 1885 Iowa State Census shows them enumerated as husband and wife in 1885, indicating they married earlier than 1891.
