Funeral Rites Conducted For Local Resident
Funeral rites were held Tuesday in the Spencer LDS Ward Chapel for George Wesley McDonald, 82, regarded Magna resident, who died of natural causes Saturday at 11:20 a.m. in a Salt Lake City hospital.
The esteemed man was born Oct. 21, 1882, in Albia, Iowa, to William C. and Emma McFadden McDonald. He married Flora Sorenson, in Pleasant Grove.
Mr. McDonald had been a dispatcher for the Bingham & Garfield Division, Kennecott Copper Corp., retired in 1948. He had been a Magna resident since 1925, and was a member of the American Kennel Club.
Survivors Given
Survivors include his widow; daughters, sons, Mrs. W. A. (Nelda) Wolstenholme, Mrs. Merrill (Carol) Duckworth, Tharel, Merrill, Wayne, Magna; Harvey, Buena Vista, Calif.; Marshall, Honolulu, Hawaii; 20 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Jessie Graham, Mrs. Floy Clamblin, Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Bessie Brown, Florida.
Burial was made in the Valley View Memorial Park.
Mr. McDonald was held in high regard by many friends. He had been a devoted husband and father and had attributes of kindliness, tolerance and charity.
