Walter was a son of William C.F. & Charity (Richardson) Snoots. He was married to Drusilla "Drue" Hammond in 1884, but they divorced. They had two children, son Marion who died two years before Walter, and daughter Mildred. He retired from the Brown Manufacturing Co. as foreman after over 30 years there. He was a 58 year member of the Masons, member of Norwich Methodist Church and honorary member of the Zanesville Fire Department, spending much time in his later years at their station on 6th Street.
