Mrs. Madeline Jolly Brown, 89, of Hwy 16 South, Taylorsville, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Valley Nursing Center.
Mrs. Brown was born September 22, 1925 in Alexander County to the late Edgar Wiley Jolly and Dearie Bessie Dagenhart Jolly.
She had worked at Carolina Glove Mill as a knitter. She was a member of Millersville Baptist Church. She enjoyed working outside, gardening flowers and visiting friends.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred Jolly, Gurthy Jolly, Hendel Jolly and Marvelee Dagenhart.
Those left to cherish her memory include: a daughter, Gaynell Levan; a son, Billy Brown; three grandchildren, Tanny Lyward Levan, Melissa Levan Hefner and Tony Brown; a great-grandchild, Caden James Levan.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Eddie Jolly will officiate. Burial will follow in the Millersville Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
