WINFIELD-Mrs. Jeffie Y. Couch, 76, Winfield, died June 3, 1969 in the Rankin Fite Memorial Hospital.
Born in Tennessee, Mrs. Couch lived most of her life in Fayette. She was a member of the Old Union Baptist Church and the widow of Alec T. Couch, who died 14 years ago.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 2 p.m. at the Winfield First Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Thompson, Elder Claude Hand and Rev. William Atkinson as the officiating ministers. Burial will be in the Winfield City Cemetery, directed by Milo Brown Service. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 until 2 and will be at the residence of J.D. (Short) Burleson until then.
Survivors include eight daughters, Mrs. Merle Yate of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Erin Burleson of Winfield, Al., Mrs. Lillian Langston of Fayette, Ala., Mrs. Ola Sue Nail of West Point, Miss., Mrs. Jean Moore of Fayette, Mrs. Naomi Waldrop of Columbus, Ga., Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Hamilton, Ala., and Mrs. Martha Mime of Louisville, Ky.; six sons, Raymond of Pensaola, Fl., Delmar of Anniston, Al., Mack of Meridian, Miss., Robert and Tom, both of Tuscaloosa, Al. and A.T. Couch jr. of Gadsten, Al.; 32 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; five brothers, Earl, Hal, Melvin, Elvin and Bige Lee; five sisters, Mrs. Abbie Atkinson, Miss Allean Lee, Mrs. Amanda Brown, Mrs. Corinne Mitchner and Mrs. Cassie Bynum.
