James Harrison Bagby was the Son of Bourbon CO Ky Born, 1813 Wm. Bagby & Virganie Harrison Who died when James was only 9
James learned his Carpender skills from his father WM, who built & repaired wagons & buggys. Wm built or maybe worked on the 1st Bagby Mill At 19 he went to work for a MR Wm R Ferguson & eventully married his Daughter Nancy Ferguson. On Aug 8th 1857
He was called upon by by Rev Samuel C Davis, to repair & Re construct his old Grist Mill. Davis gave James 1/3 intrest in Mill for all the work preformed. James became a miller & ran the full operation & soon became full owner of the Bagby Mill
The mill used a water wheel The first RR train that became avilable with new tracks, delivered parts to convert the Mill to Steam power.
The Bagby Mill sawed the planks that built the first Turnpike Road in Randolph/Howard CO MO. He purchased the Ferguson farm, 276 acres & specialized in stock raising. James & Nancy had 4 children
One Daughter Kate & her husband Porter Eubanks continued running the Bagby Mill.
