Deseret News, Internet Edition, Tuesday, Aug. 19 2003. Obituary: Marion Sharp Robinson, 1906 ~ 2003. BOUNTIFUL- Marion Sharp Robinson passed away Saturday, August 16, 2003 at the age of 97. Marion was born May 2, 1906 in New York City to Dr. John Francis Sharp and Sally Luella Ferrin. She was the eldest daughter of eight children. Marion's passions were opera and art. A soprano, Marion performed with the Philadelphia Opera Company, the San Francisco Opera Company and the Teatro del Opera in Rome. Marion attended the University of Utah and Columbia University. She studied music at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She also studied voice and languages in Munich, Paris and Rome. Marion had a life-long interest in art. She collected paintings from all over the world. Many of them are on display at the University of Utah Museum of Fine Arts. She was a longtime resident of Salt Lake City and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married Eldridge Spencer Robinson in 1939. They later divorced. They had two sons, Joseph Eldridge (Patricia) of Mission Viejo, California; and John Sharp (Candace) of Bountiful, Utah.

Marion is also survived by brothers, Byron Sharp of Salt Lake City; John Sharp of Sacramento, CA; a sister, Luella Heath of Denver, CO; and four grandchildren, Michael, Eric, Daniel and Christina. The family would like to thank Hospice of Bountiful and the staff of the Inn at Barton Creek in Bountiful for their unfailing care and support. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, prior to services.
