Madeline M. Blank, 82 of Greenville, IN passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015. She was born in Tracy, KY on February 19, 1932 the daughter of Charles E. Boles and Opal Steenbergen Boles. Madeline was a woman of faith who was a founding member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. She loved and was loved by her family, friends and her devoted husband of 57 years. She will be remembered for her generosity, thoughtfulness and compassion.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mildred Wood and brother Judge Boles.
She is survived by her husband, Herman Blank, two daughters, Ruth Schmidt (Brian) of New Albany, IN and Paula Spugnardi (John) of Louisville, KY and four grandsons, Devin, Drew and Ryan Schmidt and Philip Spugnardi. She is also survived by her sisters Dot England, Darlene Page and her brothers, F.J., Charlie, Rex and Jim Boles.
Visitation will be Sunday January 11 at Gehlbach and Royse funeral home in Georgetown, IN from 1 – 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12:00 – 1:30. The funeral will take place at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Georgetown, IN at 2:00. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenville, IN. Expressions of sympathy may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
