Funeral services for Ethel Dennis, age 90 of Mesquite, Texas were held at 10:00am Monday September 6, 1999 at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home Chapel in Mesquite with Rev. Dale Leggett and Rev Darrell Beaty officiating. Internment followed at Long Creek Cemetery under the direction of Anderson Clayton Brothers Funeral Home of Mesquite.
Ethel Florence Dennis was born on October 6, 1908 in Dallas County, Texas, the daughter of the late Ptolmey Wilson and Maude Andrews Lewis and passed away on September 3, 1999 in Mesquite. She lived her entire life in Mesquite and was a member of the Long Creek Baptist Church for many years.
She married Benjamin Franklin Dennis on March 21, 1930 and he preceded her in on December 31, 1989. She also is preceded in by a daughter, Louise Langley in 1995.
Survivors include her daughter, Lorene Pike of Mesquite, son Kenneth Dennis of Mesquite, 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and sisters, Bessie Liebel of Mesquite, Minnie Amburn of Mesquite, and Estelle Overturff of Malakoff.
Pallbearers were Giles Lee, Larry Langley, Steven Langley, Billy Baer, Ronny Lewis and Charles Powell.
