Mrs. Laura J. Neilson

Mrs. Laura J. Neilson, 77 years old, wife of the late Howard Neilson, died suddenly Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at her home, 115 West Madison street, death resulting from heart failure. She was born in New York state, April 26, 1843, and had lived in this city for nine years. Surviving are three sons, Charles B., George B. and Howard R., all of Johannesburg, South Africa; three daughters, Elizabeth, Mrs. H.E. Westervelt and Mrs. Frank Ward, all of this city; one brother, Byron Read, of Grand Ridge, Ill., two sisters, Mrs. Ella Gallup of Welsh, Ia. and Mrs. Ida Wells, of Modesto, Calif. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The funeral of Mrs. Laura J. Neilson, 115 West Madison street, was held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence. Rev. Archibald McClure, of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.
