James "Jim" Clayton Blevins, 51, of Clear Spring, Md., passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born February 9, 1963, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late James B. Blevins and Patricia A. (Munson) Blevins.

He was a 1981 graduate of Clear Spring High School.

He retired from the Washington County EMS as a 911 dispatcher and was a certified EMT. He also worked part time at Lowe's. He was a lifetime member of the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a past president and secretary, and the Clear Spring Volunteer Ambulance Club. He was an avid hunter and was a founding member of the River Side Hunt Club. He also enjoyed reading and photography.

James is survived by his son, James Clayton Blevins II of Clear Spring, Md.; brother, Steve Blevins and wife, Dot, of Big Pool, Md.; and a nephew, Mitchell Blevins.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by brother, Jeffrey A. Blevins.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held January 18, 2015, at 3 p.m. the Clear Spring Special Events Building, 12323 Big Spring Road, Clear Spring.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 400 Clear Spring, MD 21722 or to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
