Gilmer, a 75-year, 1 month, and 27-day-old married white male, carpenter, died about 8:30 a.m. at 2230 Avondale Place in Indianapolis, due to "Cardiac Decompensation, Chronic Myocarditis." He was the son of James Gilmer, born in Indiana, and Ruth Ann Shuck, born in Kentucky. His wife Lena was the informant. Burial was at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Johnson County on 8 December 1943, Moore and Kirk of Indianapolis, Funeral Directors.
