Robert E. "Bob" SHERRODD (07/08/1932 - 12/31/2014)

SHERRODD, Robert E. "Bob" Was born on July 8, 1932 in Pompey's Pillar, MT and passed away December 31, 2014 in Spokane, WA. He graduated from Colville High School and was drafted into the Navy in 1951 during the Korean War, serving on the USS Rowan.

Bob married Mary Louise Hentges in 1955 in Chewelah, WA. After returning from service he earned an A.A. degree in diesel mechanics from Spokane Trade School. He worked in Spokane as a diesel mechanic for most of his life. He enjoyed gardening and was known in his neighborhood as being able to fix anything. Bob often volunteered at St. Charles Catholic Church where he was a member. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. After retiring Bob and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandsons.

His parents, Earl and Oveal Sherrodd, two brothers and three sisters, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Louise, and his two daughters, Kristie Sherrodd of Sandpoint, ID and Julie (Leif) Erickson and grandsons Nathan and Joel, all of Kennewick, WA; two brothers, three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

The family would like to thank the Spokane Veterans Home for the excellent care that Bob received during the last three years of his life.

A Vigil Service will be held on Monday, January 5th at 10 am with a Funeral Mass following at 11 am at St. Charles Parish (4515 N. Alberta, Spokane, WA 99205). Interment with Military Honors at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions in his honor to the Spokane Veterans Home.
