FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Mrs. Mary Cole Rush, 89, of 484 Kingsford Road, Fayetteville, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, in Village Green Care Center.
Mrs. Rush was a member of Peace Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Columbia School of Nursing in Columbia, S.C., and was a retired registered nurse for Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Lafayette Memorial Park with the Rev. Annelle Waldron and chaplain retired Lt. Col. Turpin Ashurst officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rush is survived by a son, Richard E. Rush and wife, Mary, of Clarksville, Va; two daughters, Angie Ashurst and husband, retired Lt. Col. Turpin, of Ramer, Ala., and Judy Nance and husband, Max, of Fayetteville; a brother, David Emerson Cole Jr. of Florida; four sisters, Eula Cole Ruppalt of Charlotte, Selma Cole Miller of Darlington, S.C., Kathleen Cole Rich and Frances Cole Bailey, both of Florence, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rush was preceded in death by her parents, David Emerson and Susan Virginia Burgess Cole; two brothers, George Furman Cole and Jacob Carrol Cole; and two sisters, Inex Cole Brown and Ada Cole Irvin.
