Bill Brassfield, 91, of Pineville, Missouri died Wednesday, December 31 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.

He was born October 18, 1923 in Eula, Arkansas to Oda Brassfield and Cornelia McCutcheon Brassfield.

He was a World War II Army Veteran serving in the engineer boat and shore regiment. He received the WWII Victory Ribbon, Theater Ribbon with four bronze service stars. Philippine Liberation Ribbon and two Bronze Stars.

He retired from the Bentonville Farmers Exchange after thirty years.

He was a resident of this area for 66 years, and enjoyed sightseeing, vegetable gardening, his chickens, watching Andy Griffith, Gunsmoke and attended Whittenburg Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joy Brassfield; a brother, Gerald McCutcheon and a sister, Bessie Hedges.

Survivors are a son, Billy Brassfield of Pineville; a daughter, Rhonda Ramirez and husband Gabriel of Pineville; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside service is set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6 at Wardlaw Cemetery in Brightwater. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Visitation will be from 4-6p.m. Monday, January 5 at the funeral home.
