Germaine C. “Geri’ Chabot - age 83, of Augusta, went peacefully to be with her daughter, Sharon and son Ronnie on January 1, 2015. She was born in Van Buren, ME on May 21, 1931 to Armand Cyr and Cecile (Desrosiers) Cyr.

Geri worked hard her whole life and overcame several medical challenges and personal losses that would have caused a lesser person to give up. Geri’s smile lit up a room and her “can do” attitude was evident to all who knew her.

She retired from the State of Maine in 2010. She enjoyed the outdoors, working on puzzles, watching court shows, eating (for a tiny woman she could eat a lot), and seeing family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Mack McCrimmon and his wife Susan, Reggie Chabot and his wife Julie, daughter Rena Cater, sister Julie Albert and husband Paul, brother Larry Cyr and his wife Pat, 10 grandchildren: Chris McCrimmon, Shaun McCrimmon, Mack McCrimmon, Kristy Chabot, Nicole Drisko, Eric Chabot, Jason Chabot, Courtney Chabot, Autum Cater Quirion and Shane Cater; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Chabot was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon McCrimmon, son Ronald Chabot, sisters Jeanette Sylvester, Gloria McKee, and brothers Wilfred Cyr and Roger Cyr.

Mom, you will be so missed and may you be happy and at peace as you unite again with the family who has gone before you. So this is not “good bye” - but “see you later”. Much love, Mom, and a day will not go by that you will not be in our thoughts as you will always be in our hearts.

Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manchester. (Plummer Funeral Home and obituaries.centralmaine.com 1/3/2015)
