Mrs. Opal "Geanine" Welch Bozeman, age 85, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at EAMC Lanier Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 24, 1929 in Chambers County Alabama to Obadiah Hudson Welch and Lora Bell Vickers.
Mrs. Bozeman was a member of the Valley First Baptist Church. She was a resident of the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home. She was raised in LaFayette and graduated from Milltown High School. She was a housewife and had previously worked at West Point Manufacturing Company Langdale Mill and also at the Langdale Clothing Store.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00A.M. (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, Alabama. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Lanett. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00A.M. (EST) until 11:00A.M. (EST).
She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Cynthia) Bozeman, Valley, Drew Bozeman, Alpharetta, GA.; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; sisters, Zelma Dodgen, Lafayette, Thyron Davis, Birmingham, Alabama; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover W. Bozeman, whom she married on December 22, 1947 in West Point, GA; her brother, Audrey Welch, of Lafayette; a sister, Octavia Welch Smith, of Lafayette; and a grandson Brandon Bozeman of Valley.
