LaFAYETTE - Mrs. Octavia Smith, 91, of LaFayette died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at LaFayette Extended Care in LaFayette.
Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, June 15 at 2 p.m. CDT at Pleasant Grove Christian Church in Union Hill with the Rev. Paul Howard officiating. Burial will follow at LaFayette City Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Helen Charnock of LaFayette and Faye Hall of Sanford, N. C.; three sisters, Zelma Dodgen of LaFayette, Geanine Bozeman of Langdale and Thyron Davis of Birmingham, Ala.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 25, 1919 in Chambers County. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and a member of the Missionary Society of the church.
Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday from noon until the service time at 2 p.m.
