She was born in Springfield and was a longtime resident of Enfield.
She was a graduate of Boston University and Bay Path College.
Besides her husband, Scott D. Smith, she is survived by her father, attorney Charles Alaimo of Enfield; four brothers, Benjamin Alaimo of Vernon, Michael Alaimo and his wife, Betsy, of Enfield, Peter Alaimo of Enfield and Christopher Alaimo and his wife, Linda, of Somers; two sisters, Judeth Alaimo of Somers and Elizabeth Alaimo of Enfield; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael and Brenda Mayhew of Enfield and Roger and Debra Smith of Cape Cod; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Channing and Helen Smith of Yuma, Ariz.; and two stepdaughters, Tracie and Korie Smith of Keene, N.H. Her mother, Genie Himes Alaimo, died previously.
The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Enfield. Committal will be in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Caling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
