Elmer H. Aden, 71, a retired dairy farmer of Golden, died at 7:40 p.m. Monday (Sept 4, 1995) in his home.

Born June 4, 1924, in Houston Township of Adams County, Mr. Aden was a son of Henry J. and Anna E. Gronewold Aden. He married Evelyn M. Flesner March 3, 1949, in Immanuel South Prairie Lutheran Church near Golden. She survives.

Mr. Aden attended Union School near Golden and was a 1942 graduate of Golden High School. He was a dairy farmer in Camp Point Township for 41 years retiring in 1992. He had also worked for the Adams County Highway Department.

Mr. Aden was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden, having served as secretary of the church council, taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir and had served in several offices of the Lutheran Men's Mission. He also was a member of the Adams County Farm Bureau and had served on the Golden Good Shepherd Home board.

Survivors also include a son, Alan Aden of Golden; a daughter, Mrs. Scott (Alicia) Marshall of Somerdale, N. J.; a brother, Ernest E. Aden of Camp Point; and a sister, Mrs. Marion (Marian)Skouby of Webster Groves, Mo.

Mr. Aden was preceded in death by a sister, Orma Croxton.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden by the Rev. Lynn Bergren. Burial will be in Golden Memorial Gardens in Golden.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the Briggs-Hunter Funeral Home in Golden with family receiving friends after 6 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society or Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
