At the Grand Falls General Hospital, February 8, 2009, Mrs. Almida LeBel of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 87 years. She was the wife of the late Jerry LeBel. Born at Saint-Andre in 1921, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Marguerite (Lavoie) Godreau.
Mrs. LeBel was a member of the Grand Falls Golden Age Club.
She is survived by three children, Patricia Hanson (Sherman) of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Nora Mullen of East Hartford, Connecticut and Lawrence LeBel (partner Lisette Manegere) of Hamilton, Ontario, nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild "on the way", one brother, Alban Godreau (Katherine) of Florenceville, three sisters, Bertha Plourde de Ralphton, Ontario, Therese Pelkey of Bangor, Maine and Jeanne Thompson of Hamilton, Ontario, sister-in-law, Florence Godreau of Grand Falls, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Geraldine Bredenbeck and a son, Ronald LeBel.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, February 12th at 11 a.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls, with interment in the Assumption Cemetery. Members of the Golden Age Club will meet for prayers Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
