PRAIRIE – Louisiana Blanchard, 98, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was a member of Baptist Grove M.B. Church.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Baptist Grove M.B. Church in Prairie with Pastor J. Lampkin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Westbrooks Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include five sons, Rev. Dr. L.C. (Shirley) Cook of Aberdeen, R.C. Carter of Tupelo, Willie (Doris) Carter of St. Louis, Mo., Robert (Anna Mae) Carter and W.C. Carter, both of Tupelo; a daughter, Memphis Cunningham of Prairie; stepsons, Willie Lee Carter (Georgianna) Gill and Tommy; stepdaughters, Betty Jean Clemmons, Sally Will and Gertrude Blanchard; a sister, Pattie Lee Ewing of St. Louis; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and a wake will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time Sunday.
