Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Gardner, 84, died away this morning at 8 o'clock at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami. The body is being brought to Key West for funeral services and burial. Services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Fleming Street Methodist Church where the body will be placed at 1 p.m. The Rev. James E. Statham will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the family plot in City Cemetery. Lopez Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Gardner was the widow of the late Whitmore J. Gardner who for many years was Chief of Police here. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. A. F. Ayala, and Mrs. W. W. Pinder, both of Key West, Mrs. J. A. Miller and Mrs. W. T. Perez of Miami, and Mrs. L. G. Abramson, New York; one son, G. W. Gardner, Jacksonville; a brother, T. T. Thompson, Key West; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
