Mrs. Grossi died in the early morning hours of December 12th, 2014 at Washington Care Center in Greenville, with her family by her side. She was born January 27, 1921, in Shelby, Mississippi, daughter of Giovanni and Celia Tara Balducci. She became a resident of Greenville upon her marraige to Santi "Sam" Grossi, Sr. in 1945. Josie was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; and spent 25 years as St. Joseph Catholic School Cafeteria Manager before her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, Shopping, and traveling; and devoted her life to prayer and service of others. She considered her greatest achievement in life was her family and loved ones. Anyone who was fortunate enough to cross her path was greeted with a smile, a hug, and all of her love. She always Loved all, one hundred percent of the time; no matter what.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Elisa George, Lena Mangialardi, Dena Ainsworth, and Rosie Richmond; her brothers, Robert Balducci, Queno Balducci, Joe Balducci, Paul Balducci, and Marshall Balducci.

Survivors include: one daughter, Cecilia (Steve) Zepponi; five sons, Sam (Peggy) Grossi, John (Joanne) Grossi, Thomas (Cindy) Grossi, Donald (Debbie) Grossi, and Ronald (Terrie) Grossi; she will be missed dearly by her fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; of whom she shared many fond memories.

The family wishes to thank Lenoir & Cirilli MD, Grace Hospice, and the nursing staff at Washington Care Center for all of the help, care, kindness, and love for Mrs. Grossi.
