Dock Rogers was born in Blue Ridge, Watauga County, North Carolina. Dock Rogers had a logging crew and a sawmill business in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. He furnished much of the lumber for the buildings in Blowing Rock in the early 1900's. Dock Rogers and his wife Kate Moody moved their family from North Carolina to Coshocton County, Ohio in 1920. It is believed he was one of the first to make the migration from NC to OH. Like other families who made the move, they traveled by the Tweetsie Railroad from Boone to Johnson City, Tennessee. From there they continued on a larger train to Cincinnati, Ohio. They continued the trip on the Nickel Plate Railroad to Coshocton, Ohio.
